Immunotherapy
What is Immunotherapy?
Immunotherapy is treatment that uses certain parts of your immune system to fight cancer. This can be done by either stimulating your own immune system to work harder or smarter or by giving your immune system components, such as man-made immune system proteins.
Immunotherapy is used to treat specific types of cancers, sometimes in conjunction with other forms of treatment to add to its desired effects. Immunotherapy is usually given intravenously or by injection into the skin.
Immunotherapy is available for patients at Redwood Regional Medical Group. Please consult your medical oncologist to learn if this treatment is appropriate for your situation.
