National organization designates Redwood Breast Imaging Center of Excellence
Santa Rosa – The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) has asked Dr. Charles Elboim, Breast Surgeon and Medical Director of the Redwood Regional Breast Center at Redwood Regional Medical Group, to serve as a surveyor of breast care practices throughout the country.
Santa Rosa – Redwood Regional Medical Group is now using a new applicator to deliver radiation to certain breast cancer patients. Known as Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI), the SAVI applicator’s multi-catheter design enables a breast cancer patient to complete her radiation treatment in 5 days instead of several weeks.
Santa Rosa – Dr. Anthony Sajewicz, Radiologist, has joined Redwood Regional Medical Group. Most recently, Dr. Sajewicz has been a clinical instructor in Cardio Thoracic Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco, (UCSF) where he also completed a Fellowship in the same specialty.

Redwood Regional Medical Group installed of the most advanced radiation therapy delivery system for cancer patients in the North Bay with the Clinac iX Medical Linear Accelerator from Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR). The Image Guided Radiation Therapy, (IGRT) system was delivered in February to the practice’s Fountaingrove campus at 3555 Round Barn Circle in Santa Rosa.
